It refused to run a steam cycle with a full tank. He asked when it had last been descaled before touching anything, which turned out to be never. Descaled properly, checked the pump, and it has behaved since.

Wall ovens, cooktops and downdraft ventilation, with more onboard electronics than most of the field.
How this one fails
Dacor put a screen on things other manufacturers left as a knob, which is good until the control board is the failure. The useful diagnostic habit with this brand is to separate what the panel says from what the appliance is doing: a reported temperature and an actual temperature disagreeing by fifty degrees is a sensor story, while a panel that has gone dark with the oven still heating is a display story, and they are different repairs at different prices.

Dead at every setting and two people had told me to replace the whole drawer. He said it is an element, a thermostat and a switch, and one of the three would be the answer. It was the switch. A fraction of what I had been quoted.

Cloudy cubes with white centres for months. He explained that is air and minerals coming out of the water rather than anything mechanical, checked the inlet, and sorted the filtering. First clear ice we have had since we moved in.

We are not authorised by Dacor and we do not claim to be. We fit parts made to the manufacturer's specification, we diagnose before we quote, and the $95 service call comes off the repair once you approve it.
