Fridge was fine but the noise behind the cabinet panel had got loud enough to hear from the hallway. Turned out to be the condenser fan, not the compressor I had convinced myself it was. One part, one visit, no drama.

Viking · Beverly, Massachusetts
Viking built-in refrigeration is the call we get most in Beverly, and it is the one where diagnosis pays for itself — the auto-defrost control is a four-figure part, and it should never be ordered on suspicion.
The brand, in general
Two Viking facts change the conversation before any work starts. Auto-defrost control boards are a four-figure part on their own, which means a refrigeration fault has to be pinned precisely rather than approached by substitution. And dual-cavity ranges carry a separate igniter per cavity — one failed igniter is not the same job as two, and quoting it as though it were is how customers end up feeling misled. We price both honestly and say which one we found.
Beverly kitchens
A mile inland the salt exposure drops sharply, and it shows in how long coils last. Beverly kitchens run the full range from compact to substantial.

Front left burner sparked and sparked and would not catch. He checked gas first, then spark, then found the cap fouled and shorting the spark somewhere useless. Cleaned and reseated. He did not sell me an igniter I did not need.

The unit in our island ran constantly and never got properly cold. He showed me it had been built into a sealed cavity with nowhere to push the heat, and that no part would fix that. We cut a vent. Problem gone, and he charged for the visit only.
