One module of the run had died and the rest worked. He pointed out the advantage of the modular design is that the dead one comes out without disturbing its neighbours, which is exactly how it went. No cabinetry touched.

What we find on Cove
Cove is recent enough that we are not yet seeing wear failures — what comes in is installation-related more often than not. A machine that will not drain in a kitchen where the disposal knockout plug was never removed is a plumbing oversight, not an appliance fault, and finding that out costs a service call rather than a pump.

Frost building at the top of the freezer column only. He said that pattern points at the defrost circuit rather than the compressor and he was right. Explained the whole thing as he went, which I appreciated more than I expected to.

Hollow cubes that fell apart in your hand. Apparently that means the fill is short of what the cycle expects. Inlet valve was partly blocked. He also spotted the supply line was kinked behind the unit and straightened it while he was there.
